Know What Your Business Actually Earns
Most business owners know their revenue. Far fewer know whether their business is actually profitable — and why. Our accounting services give you a clear, accurate view of your financial position every month, not just at tax time.
Accounting That Works as a Business Tool, Not Just a Compliance Task
There is a meaningful difference between keeping records and understanding what those records mean. Our accounting services cover both. We handle the day-to-day transaction recording and reconciliation through our bookkeeping services, and we translate that work into financial statements and reports that tell you where your business stands — and where it is heading.
Every month, you should be able to answer three questions with confidence: What did my business earn? Where did the money go? And do I have enough cash to cover what is coming? We build the reporting structure that makes those answers available to you without guesswork.
Did You Know Bookkeeping and Financial Statements Are Two Different Things?
Bookkeeping is the foundation: recording transactions, categorizing expenses, reconciling accounts. Financial statement preparation builds on that foundation to show you the complete picture — what you own, what you owe, what you earned, and what your cash position actually is.
Many business owners have one without the other. They have someone entering data but no one synthesizing it into a report they can act on. We provide both, and we make sure the connection between them is clear.
Accounting That Connects to Tax and Payroll — Not a Separate Silo
One of the more common frustrations we hear from business owners is that their bookkeeper, their payroll provider, and their CPA are not talking to each other. Year-end becomes a scramble. Tax prep requires reconstructing records that should have been clean all along.
Because we also handle
tax preparation and
payroll services under the same roof, your accounting records are already structured the way your tax returns need them. Nothing gets lost in translation between vendors, and nothing needs to be rebuilt from scratch when April approaches.
What Does "Messy Books" Actually Cost a Business?
More than the stress of not knowing. Disorganized or inaccurate records make it harder to price your services correctly, harder to manage cash flow, harder to qualify for financing, and harder to make confident decisions about hiring, expansion, or investment. Clean books are not a luxury for businesses that have reached a certain size. They are how any business — at any stage — stays in control of its own trajectory.
If you have been managing your own books on top of running your business, or if you have not looked closely at a financial statement in months, that is exactly the situation we are built to help with.
Common Questions About Our Accounting Services
What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping refers to the ongoing recording and categorization of financial transactions — the daily and monthly work of keeping your records current. Accounting takes that recorded data and uses it to prepare financial statements, analyze performance, and support business decisions. Both are necessary, and we provide both as part of our accounting services.
How often will I receive financial reports?
For most clients, we prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports. We review those reports with you and are available to answer questions about what they show. The goal is that you are never more than a month behind on understanding your own financial position.
Can you take over accounting for a business that has been managing its own books?
Yes, and we do this regularly. We will review your existing records, identify any gaps or inconsistencies, and bring your books current before establishing a clean monthly process going forward. The transition is straightforward, and we handle the heavy lifting.
Do your accounting services work alongside my existing tax preparer?
They can, though many of our accounting clients also work with us for tax preparation. When accounting and tax are handled by the same firm, year-end preparation is significantly simpler — your records are already structured correctly and there is no coordination gap between your bookkeeper and your CPA.
Do you offer accounting services to businesses outside the Minneapolis area?
Yes. We provide virtual accounting services to clients throughout Minnesota and beyond. All document sharing and reporting is handled through our secure client portal, so geography is not a barrier to working with us.
